Welcome to the Embassy of Nigeria in Sweden
I welcome you to the Official Website of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Stockholm, Sweden, with concurrent accreditation to Finland, Denmark and Norway. Our work in the Embassy is defined by the focus of Nigeria’s relation with each of the countries, which covers different fields, including political, trade, economics and other key areas. We also attend to the welfare of Nigerians visiting and living in these beautiful Nordic countries.
At the international scene, Nigeria stands together with these countries for rules-based international order, promotion of democracy, respect for rule of law and protection of human rights. Underpinned by these and other shared values, the Embassy has been bolstering bilateral relations between Nigeria and each of these countries as well as promoting trade, investment and economic cooperation with them. The Embassy provides explanation on business and investment opportunities in Nigeria, including information on its vast natural and abundant human resources. We issue visas to facilitate the visits of government officials, interested individuals and representatives of companies from these countries to Nigeria.
Many of our Nationals residing in the Nordic Countries work in different sectors and are contributing to the socio-economic growth of their respective countries. As part of our core mandates, the Embassy is committed to providing efficient consular services to them. We handle the issuance and renewal of their travel documents and offer notary services. We have introduced an online registration system through this website for Nigerians residing in or visiting Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. I urge each of them to register online.
It is common knowledge that Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa. The country is a strategic gateway to other African markets and the most preferred investment and tourist destination in the continent. There are extensive business and investment opportunities in different sectors including Energy, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Tourism, Information and Communications Technology and others.
Consequently, while deepening Nigeria’s relations with each of these Nordic countries and fostering significant business connections with them, we shall continue to urge investors from Sweden and the Nordic countries to invest in the different sectors in Nigeria. We invite them to take advantage of the opportunities our nation has to offer, from its rich cultural heritage to its promising business environment, amongst others.
The Embassy shall continue to use the medium of this website to publicise information about its activities for the attention of Host authorities, citizens, organisations, Nigerians resident in the Nordic countries and keep the wider public informed. In this connection, I invite you to, please, follow the Embassy’s Social Media accounts on Facebook: @nigerianembassysweden and X: @NigembSweden
We, in the Embassy, shall remain steadfast in our dedication to excellence and professionalism as we carry out our duties with high sense of responsibility. We are in the Mission to serve and we are committed to doing that dutifully, diligently and delightfully.
