Passport Application Process and Guidelines

Please be informed that passport processing takes place from Monday to Wednesday, between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM. Passports that have been issued will be dispatched on Thursdays for applicants who provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope. If you are using a courier service with a registered self-addressed envelope, pickups will occur on Fridays between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM.

Guidelines:

  1. Complete the passport application form online and obtain your Application ID and Reference Number.
  2. Proceed with the payment and print copies of the acknowledgement slip and Payment Receipt.
  3. Schedule an appointment for biometric enrolment and print the appointment confirmation.
  4. Print a copy of the Administrative Fee receipt, which should be paid to the Embassy’s account for the requested passport service.
  5. Attend your biometric enrolment appointment on the scheduled date with all required documents.
  6. Ensure you provide a self-addressed, registered, and trackable envelope that can be sent from Sweden to your chosen destination.

CHANGE OF NAME DUE TO DIVORCE

  1. Application letter addressed to His Excellency.  (See sample)

  2. Copy of completed online passport application form.

  3. Copy of online acknowledgement slip and payment slip.

  4. Passport booklet to be reissued.

  5. Photocopy of data page of passport.

  6. Decree Nisi and Decree Absolute or declaration of divorce.

  7. In case of Re-marriage, a Certificate of Marriage with the Current Spouse.

  8. Sworn Affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court of Change of Name deposed to by Applicant.

  9. Copy of Newspaper Publication of Change of Name (21 days after publication).

  10. Statutory evidence of change of name from issuing authority in the country of residence. (in lieu of  8 and 9)

  11. Copy of residence card.

  12. Evidence of maiden name.

  13. Copy of payment of administrative fee paid to Embassy’s account.

  14. Copy of appointment slip.

  15. AN ENCLOSED SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE, REGISTERED AND TRACKABLE, THAT CAN BE POSTED FROM SWEDEN TO YOUR DESIRED DESTINATION.
